Select program overview

Overview

SESA' Select Program is geared toward players who have outgrown the Recreational Program and are looking for a more challenging soccer environment. Players who play at the select level usually have a personal goal, such as to play for the high school varsity team, or to play college soccer, or to become a professional player and play for the National Team! But most of all they simply love soccer and want to grow as a player and continue to enjoy the game while developing more skills and abilities to be better players. The main objective of the Select Program is to help each player reach his/her potential and achieve his/her goal. Select teams each have regular weekly training sessions, attend multiple league games and tournaments during the season. Each team has a designated head coach who oversees the teams games and practices. Each team also works with one or more of the professional staff coaches on a regular basis. Teams and players are monitored and evaluated by the coaching directors.

Player team placements are held in June each year (actual dates for tryouts can be found on our Calendar of Events). Our Professional coaching staff evaluates the skills, potential and enthusiasm of each candidate to determine an appropriate team fit. When players reach the Select level, we ask that they commit the time and effort necessary to bring about self-improvement and to contribute to the goals of their team. We make the same demands of the SESA coaching staff.

Select is broken up into boys and girls with u11/12 and u13/14 groups. Teams may be formed as separate ages or together as combined ages depending on number of players and the appropriate playing level that best promotes player development. u11/12 play 9v9 and u13/14 play 11v11.
