The u11/12 select boys teams are coached by Ted Keuchmann with assistance from John Zimmer. Coach Ted has over 10 years coaching experience, including multi year state contenting Danville Boys high school teams, as well as the current SESA Jr Academy program. Ted holds his USSF Grassroots license and NFHS Iowa high school license. Coach Zimmer is a former DI player and brings several years of coaching and playing experience. While the two teams play games and tournaments on separate teams, they practice with each other and when appropriate may see players move between rosters to provide additional development opportunities. While there is a benefit to being able to move players up or down between the 11 and 12 teams to foster their development, there is also an advantage to players being able to mix together at times. At this stage the players are really mastering their technical skills, applying more tactical based concepts, team system and structure, and playing at the 9v9 level. The players are some of the most dedicated, creative, and fun players who are extremely passionate about soccer. The 11/12 age is a great time to join SESA, especially for players who have been playing soccer at the rec level and are looking to have more experienced coaching, higher level practice and competition, and fun while learning the game.
