The highest level of play in the area is the SESA Under 23 Select Program. The u23 program is designed for our local players in college and the college bound high school players in the area. For many college players, returning home during the summer and winter is a struggle to maintain the level of play they had been training at with their college team, let alone actually make improvements. In 2017 the SESA ADOC started the u23 program so that the growing number of local college players would have a program to play with while home from college.
The program trains multiple times each week, and is coached by current college coach and former college players who know exactly what it takes to play at the college level. The program also plays weekly in the 11v11 league, there are separate men's and women's teams. The teams will also be attending the Iowa Adult Soccer Championship Series. The u23 is open to all high school players going into 9th grade, and all college age players and recent college players. This year, due to restrictions and cancelations, the program will not include participation in the 11v11 league or the Adult Championship Series. As a consolation a third training day has been added. The price of the program has also been reduced to reflect these changes (from $100 to $60)
Summer program schedule: Starting June 17th, 3 training sessions a week; Wednesday and Thursday 7-9pm, and Sunday 2-4pm. Program ends August 9th. It is acceptable for players to miss some sessions due to travel, vacations, work, etc. and is expected during the summer months. Some absences do not prohibit participation.
* Due to COVID-19 the SESA u23 Summer Only 2020 program will not be a SESA affiliated program for the summer 2020 season. Baret Ertzinger will be running a u23 program independently of SESA. Format and structure will remain the same, but SESA will not be responsible for nor have involvement in the program offered. SESA has agreed to accept registrations on behalf of Baret Ertzinger. SESA will not receive any form of payment from those registrations, and all payments will be transferred to Baret.
